Chris Thompson Founding Partner
Chris’ career spans engineering, accountancy, design and innovation. Prior to founding Via in 1998, Chris spent 13 years in the global design consulting industry; he was Group Chief Operating Officer of Fitch plc and Managing Director of PSD Associates. While at Fitch he spent 3 years working in the US. Over the last 15 years at Via, Chris has led over 200 consulting assignments working for large corporations, technology start-ups, government departments and universities. Chris has a degree in physics, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University.
Bill Sermon Partner
Bill is a design leader. He played a key role in building the Nokia business, brand and design. He joined Nokia in 1998 as Design Director and was a VP for one of the company’s most successful business groups, Nokia Multimedia. Previously Bill was a Director and Senior Consultant at global design company, Fitch plc where he was responsible for brand and product development. Since joining Via in 2010 has worked with a number of large corporate clients and start-ups leveraging his expertise to help them transform their products, services and markets. Bill began his career at Philips, has been a Director of the Design Business Association and is a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers. Bill has a degree in Product Design and is an Honorary Fellow of Ravensbourne College of Design and Communications.
Louis French Partner
Louis is a technologist. Louis has more than 15 years’ experience consulting on technical aspects of innovation projects. After spending 5 years in charge of technology at PSD, a leading European design agency, Louis joined Via in 2000. His breadth of experience is invalauble to our clients and as well as bringing his often unique technical perspective to our projects, Louis also leads our online tool development activity. Louis has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University, London.
Nick Duggan Partner
Nick is a business and market strategist. He joined Via in 2000 and has led and supported a wide range of assignments in the food and drink, household products, financial services and medical products and services. Prior to joining Via, Nick was a strategy consultant at PIMS a leading market inteligence company and a business strategist in the packaging and electronics industries working at Rockware and Honeywell. Nick has a masters degree in Business Strategy from University College Dublin.
Neil Gridley Senior Consultant
Neil is an innovation consultant. He has 18 years experience in consultancy and international business, including user centred design and brand development at Philips, design management at Tesco and as a programme development leader at the UK’s strategic body for design, the Design Council. He has leveraged his understanding of consumer behaviour and trends to develop successful products, brands and services across industries and sectors, for businesses ranging from start- ups through to global corporations. Neil has a degree in Industrial Design and has just co-authored a book on building loved brands.
Vanessa Bailey Consultant
Vanessa is an innovation consultant. She has over 15 years experience of change management in the UK public sector, leading strategic programmes to design and deliver efficient, effective & high quality criminal and civil justice services. She joined Viadynamics having completed a masters in Innovation & Design at Cranfield University. Prior to working in the public sector, Vanessa studied Biochemistry and worked in Research & Development for Novo Nordisk. She also has a masters in Public Administration from Warwick University.
Paul Sinclare Finance
Paul is a bit of everything. He trained as a chef, returning to studying he then qualified as a company secretary. After 15 years as an accountant in a variety of organisations including the Ritz Hotel, he competed an MBA specialising in marketing in 1992. Since then he has worked in a variety of sectors and roles with an emphasis on the charity and SME sectors, providing finance and business consultancy. Paul joined Viadynamics in 2006.
